“Heritage in Harmony” is an international youth chorus composed of 36 high school students -- 12 from Vermont (including Emily Byers of Middlebury), 12 from Quebec and 12 from France -- who are participating in a special Quadricentennial Youth Leadership Program sponsored in large part by the U.S. Department of State and coordinated by the Vermont Council on World Affairs.  The chorus is conducted by Jeff Buettner of Middlebury College, the Director of the Vermont Youth Orchestra Chorus.

Additional performances include:
  • July 4th: Performance at Bayside Park, Colchester as part of the Colchester 4th of July celebration. 3:00 p.m. Free and open to the public.
  • July 5th: Heritage in Harmony will sing the National Anthem at the start of the Vermont Lake Monsters home game in Centennial Field, Burlington at 5:00 p.m. Tickets to the game may be obtained on the Vermont Lake Monsters website click here
  • July 7th: Concert at the Congregational Church, 42 Pleasant Street, Middlebury, at 7:00 p.m., followed by a reception at the church. Free and open to the public.
  • July 11th: Performance in Burlington's Waterfront Park as part of the International Festival at 1:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.

The mission of the Vermont Council on World Affairs, a non partisan organization, is to promote an awareness and understanding of world affairs by (a) providing a wide range of public forums and events on key foreign affairs issues; (b) arranging meetings and hosting international delegations; (c) working with educational institutions to develop programs on issues facing the world today; and (d) working with Vermont companies to better understand international business.
