“Heritage in Harmony,”
the youth chorus of the Vermont-Québec-France Quadricentennial Youth Leadership Program

“Heritage in Harmony” is an international youth chorus composed of 36 high school students -- 12 from Vermont (including Emily Byers of Middlebury), 12 from Quebec and 12 from France -- who are participating in a special Quadricentennial Youth Leadership Program sponsored in large part by the U.S. Department of State and coordinated by the Vermont Council on World Affairs.  The chorus is conducted by Jeff Buettner of Middlebury College, the Director of the Vermont Youth Orchestra Chorus.

Additional performances include:

June 29th: Opening reception for, and premier performance by, Heritage in Harmony at the Essex from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. The reception is sponsored by the Vermont Council on World Affairs. Tickets are $50 per person and may be obtained at www.vcwa.org

July 4th: Performance at Bayside Park, Colchester as part of the Colchester 4th of July celebration. 3:00 p.m. Free and open to the public.

July 5th: Heritage in Harmony will sing the National Anthem at the start of the Vermont Lake Monsters home game in Centennial Field, Burlington at 5:00 p.m. Tickets to the game may be obtained on the Vermont Lake Monsters website.

July 11th: Performance in Burlington's Waterfront Park as part of the International Festival at 1:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.

The Vermont Council on World Affairs, a non partisan organization, works to promote an awareness and understanding of world affairs by (a) providing a wide range of public forums and events on key foreign affairs issues; (b) arranging meetings and hosting international delegations; (c) working with educational institutions to develop programs on issues facing the world today; and (d) working with Vermont companies to better understand international business.
