Beyond The Inland Sea

New Mixed Media Art Work and Lake Champlain Backdrop Photo Shoot
by Jude Bond

The 2009 Recipient of the Barbara Smail Award presents new works in ” Beyond The Inland Sea” an exploration of the history and prehistory of the Champlain Basin through mixed media art work. Combining vintage and contemporary photographs as well as other imagery and media, Jude Bond’s new works explore our colorful local history through tall tales, legends and good old fashioned exaggeration. Look for Trilobites, Champ, Mermaids, and large fruits and vegetables. The viewer will experience a delightful time traveling trip.

Included in the show is a 7’x11’ hand painted canvas backdrop of Lake Champlain for an ongoing photo shoot. Visitors can dress up with costumes and props provided and pose in front of the backdrop. The digital photos taken will be posted on the wall of the gallery so participants become part of the show. This fun participatory part of the show will be available during all regular gallery hours.
